International Summer School Geotraces-Spain
Call for ATTENDANCE TO THE INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL GEOTRACES SPAIN
The summer school is organized by the International GEOTRACES program, the University of Cádiz (UCA), the Andalusian Institute of Marine Sciences of the Spanish National Research Council (ICMAN-CSIC), and the International Campus of Excellence of the Sea (CEI·MAR); with funding from the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR), GEOTRACES, the General CSIC Foundation, the International Doctorate School of Marine Studies (EIDEMAR), and CEI·MAR.
The general objective of the course is to give students, specialized knowledge in the study of heavy metals in the ocean. The course will be imparted by an outstanding team of professor of renowned prestige in the field of trace metals in the ocean, within the framework of GEOTRACES international program (https://www.geotraces.org).
Particular objectives of the course are:
- Gaining knowledge and experience on oceanographic sampling campaigns for collection of samples for the analysis of trace metals.
- Students should be capable to properly select and conduct analytical strategies for the study of trace metals in marine samples.
- Gaining knowledge on bio-geochemical cycles of metals in the ocean and their speciation.
- Data management to analyse the role of trace metals in the ocean.
Dates: 23rd-28th September 2019.
